Text: On 5-14-09 at approximately 0110 Alaska State Troopers responded
to the end of Maud Road for the report of a noise disturbance. On scene
Troopers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a white 2001 Dodge Neon
for and equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle who was later
identified as Cassandra L. Bossie, age 19 of Palmer, failed to yield for
Troopers. Bossie attempted to flee into the woods and was arrested.
Bossie is charged with Eluding, MOCA, and MCA. Investigation also
revealed that Trevor B. Mccorkle, age 16 of Palmer and Aaron C. Mahan,
age 18 of Palmer, had also been in the vehicle and had been consuming
alcohol. Mccorkle and Mahan were both issued summons to appear in court
and released to parents. Bossie was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial
where she was remanded into custody and held on $1,000.00 bail.

Text: On 05/11/2009, at approximately 2243 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on Republican Way near
the intersection of the Old Glenn Highway in Palmer. Investigation
revealed Luke Ludvick, age 34, of Palmer, was operating his 1989 Ford
Bronco northbound on Republican Way when he lost control of his vehicle
causing it to roll over onto its side. Ludvick was found to have been
operating under the influence of alcohol. Ludvick was subsequently
arrested for DUI and charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Tests
and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI for possession of
marijuana. Ludvick was transported to Mat-Su Pretrail where he was
remanded. Ludvick's bail was set at $10,000. Ludvick was uninjured in
the collision and reported wearing his seatbelt.

Type: Operate Vehicle in Salmon Stream
Text: On 5/10/09 at approximately 1349 hours, Alaska State Troopers were
patrolling the Knik River Public Use Area in Palmer, AK. Troopers came
across a 2000 Dodge Dakota pick up truck submerged in the Knik River at
1.4 miles North of the Knik River bridge from the Old Glenn Hwy.
Investigation revealed Dean E. Fitzgerald, age 22 of Anchorage was
operating his vehicle on a trail along side the Knik River. Fitzgerald
drove off the river bank and fully submerged his vehicle in the Knik
River. Fitzgerald's vehicle was recovered out of the Knik River and
impounded. Fitzgerald was later located, issued a summons and released
for a later court date for operating a wheeled vehicle in anadramous
waters of the Knik River.

to the scene. Prior to AST arrival, Palmer and Butte ambulances
transported two male patients to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
Members of the Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team
responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Investigation
determined a 2001 Honda Accord driven by Edward N. Domrude II, age 23,
of Wasilla was traveling north on the Old Glenn Hwy. when control of the
vehicle was lost on a curve near mile 9.9 of the Old Glenn Hwy. The
vehicle slid into the ditch, overturned, and came to rest back on the
roadway on it's top. Domrude managed to free himself from the vehicle
but passenger, Joshua A. Brown, age 29, of Wasilla was entrapped in the
vehicle. Both Domrude and Brown were transported by ambulance to Mat-Su
Regional Medical Center where Brown was later transferred to Alaska
Regional hospital. Alcohol and prescription medications appear to have
been a factor in the collision. Investigation continues.

Text: On 4/25/09 at approximately 0756 hours, Alaska State Troopers were
investigating a Motor Vehicle Collision at mile 10 of the Old Glenn
Highway. The driver of a 1998 black Jeep Cherokee was requested to turn
his vehicle around due road closure and at that time state troopers
smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the interior
of the vehicle. AST made contact with a passenger of the vehicle who
was identified as Shawn Patrick Phillips, age 19 of Anchorage.
Investigation revealed Phillips was consuming alcohol at a party in the
Jim Creek area the night before. Phillips was issued a summons for MCA
and released on scene.

Text: On 4-11-09 at 2037 hours AST received numerous reports of motor
vehicle collision at mile 7.5 Old Glenn Hwy, in which several people
reported the driver was intoxicated. AST and ABI units patrolling the
Knik River Public Use Area responded to the scene. Investigation
revealed that 27 year old Quincy Brannon of Anchorage was driving while
intoxicated when his vehicle ran off the road, ditch and into some small
trees. There was approximately $3500 damage to the vehicle. Quincy was
subsequently arrested for Felony DUI, Felony Refusal, and Driving While
License Suspended. He was remanded at Matsu Pretrial on $7500 cash bail
plus CATP. His vehicle was impounded for possible forfeiture.

Text: On 11/10/2008 at approximately 1945 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of 3 overdue individuals who went on an ATV trip in
the Jim Creek area. The individuals were identified as Daniel Hill (25
yoa of Anchorage), Robert Hoch Jr (46 yoa of Anchorage), and Mike Bryant
(29 yoa of Anchorage). Investigation revealed that the three individuals
had been riding ATV's in the area of Jim Creek when they ran out of
gasoline. The three individuals sent text messages to their wives
stating that they were lost and needed help. Alaska State Troopers
helicopter, Helo 1, was subsequently dispatched to their location where
they were located and rescued. None of the individuals reported needing
medical attention.

Text: On 11/5/2008, approx. 0300 hours, Alaska State Troopers
investigated a commercial burglary at the Butte Store/Caf=E9 located

revealed that on 11/5/2008, approx. 0210 hours, unknown subject(s)
entered the business by breaking out a window, causing approx. $200.00
damage. Stolen was an undisclosed amount of cash and in the process of

Klaveronreported that himself and Melvin Van Scmaik age 32, both from the Netherlands, were stranded on Pioneer Peak, unable to climb up or down.Troopers attempted to reach the climbers with Helo 3, but were unable due to steep terrain and turbulent conditions. The Rescue Coordination Center dispatched a helicopter that was able to land on the ridge and rescue the climbers. Both climbers when contacted were in good health and transported to Palmer.

Type: Take Game in Defense of Life and Property
Text: On 8/3/08 Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a report of a bear that was shot and killed at the Eklutna Tailrace. Investigation revealed Ronald Robinson, age 39 of Wasilla, observed a young black bear chasing a man near the public fishing area at the Eklutna Tailrace. Robinson moved to get a better view and the bear turned towards him at close distance. Robinson dispatched the bear with his .45 pistol. Investigation is continuing into the matter. Alaska Statutes require that any animal taken in defense of life and property must be immediately reported to Alaska Wildlife Troopers or Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Additionally, any animal must be salvaged and surrendered to ADF&G.

William A Krizman, age 27, of Anchorage was in possession of an overlimit of salmon. Krizman was found to be in possession of 5 salmon over16 inches where the possession limit is three. The fish were red salmon
and silver salmon taken from Jim Creek. Bail is set at $150 in Palmer

fishermen with a brown motor home were snagging large amounts of salmon
near Jim Creek. Investigation revealed a camp of three fishermen had
retained 24 salmon in approximately 2 hours of fishing and snagging. Lynn Bradford, age 48 of Chugaik was cited for over limit of salmon over 16 inches, snagging salmon, and using a fixed weighted hook. Combined bail is set at $470 in Palmer District Court for his violations. Jessie Walden, age 26 of Anchorage was cited for an over limit of salmon. Bail is set at $150 in Palmer District court. Peter Palmer, age 33 of Chugiak was cited for an over possession limit of salmon. Bail is set at $110 in Palmer District Court. Fishing poles, gear, coolers and fish were seized in the incident. Grinnell was reported to be speeding just prior to the accident and was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to Matsu Regional Hospital for his injuries . Butte Volunteer Fire Department responded and upon arrival rendered aide and summoned a helicopter to effect an air evacuation. violation. Investigation revealed that the driver, 18 yoa Kevin C.
Lebrun, of Anchorage, was operating the vehicle in violation of his
instructional permit. Lebrun was issued a summons for the offense and
released at the scene. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver
who responded to the scene.

On 5-22-08, at about 0116 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded
to an off road ATV collision near Bodenburg Loop and Old Glenn Highway
in Palmer. As a result of the collision, George Green, age 38 of
Palmer, was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital where he was
pronounced deceased. A seventeen year old passenger on the four wheeler
was also transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital where she was being
treated for a fractured forearm and ruptured spleen. Neither subject
was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The next of kin was
notified and the body is being held pending release by the State Medical
Examiner.

operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Investigation also found Stump to be in possession of three firearms
while impaired by alcohol. Stump was arrested for DUI and Misconduct
Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Stump was remanded to the Mat-Su
Pretrial Facility and held on a bail of $2,000.00.

On 05/11/08, at about 1841 hours, AST responded to the
intersection of the Old Glenn Highway and Bodenberg Loop/Plumley Road
for a reported motor vehicle collision with injuries. An investigation
revealed Thomas A. Blanche, age 40, was driving eastbound on Bodenberg
Loop, towards Plumley Road in 1999 Dodge truck when he failed to stop at
the stop sign at the Old Glenn Highway. Blanch then collided with a
2007 Mercedes-Benz that was northbound on the Old Glenn Highway, and
driven by Barbie Hawkins, age 41, of Wasilla. Hawkins and her passenger
were both transported to the Matsu Regional Hospital with minor injuries
and later released. Blanche was also transported to the Matsu Regional
Hospital with minor injuries and later released. Upon his release
Blanche was arrested on two charges of Assault III, DUI, and DWLR.
Hawkins and her passenger were wearing seatbelts, and airbags inside the
Mercedes deployed. It is unknown if Blanche was wearing a seatbelt.
Both vehicles were considered a total loss. Prior to the collision, the
Dodge truck was reported as a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver
Immediately) vehicle.

On 4/28/08 at approximately 0754 hours, Alaska State Troopers were
dispatched to a report of a male stranded with his family and was unable
to find his two juvenile sons in the Knik River area. The male later
identified as Sterling Lofgreen (40), reported that his two sons, ages
15 and 17, both of Wasila, left on foot to get oil for their ATV that
had broke down which had and left them stranded about three miles from
their base camp. Sterling stayed at the ATV with his wife Carrie
Lofgreen (37), and their 12 year old son. The 15 and 17 year old left
just before dark yesterday evening. When the boys did not return
Sterling became worried. He then called 911 and reported that the two
boys had not returned. Sterling told the call taker he was between
Friday Creek and Metal Creek in the Knik River Valley and that his cell
phone battery was almost dead. Sterling's cell phone then died.
Troopers tried several times to contact them but had no success. The
State Troopers Helicopter (Helo 1) from Anchorage was notified and
responded to the area, and began searching. At approximately 0931 hours
Helo 1 located the 15 and 17 year old boys. Helo 1 landed and contacted
the boys who said they were okay and where the others were at. Helo 1
left the boys at their base camp and went to contact Sterling, Carrie,
and their 12 year old son. He located them within a few minutes and
transported them to the Old Glenn Highway and the Knik River Bridge
where they were met by medical personnel from the Butte Fire Department.
They were all transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for
precautionary reasons. Helo 1 then transported the 15 and 17 year old
boys from the base camp to the Old Glenn Highway and the Knik River
Bridge where they were met by medical personnel. The boys were examined
and released by the medical personnel on scene. They were then
transported by AST patrol vehicle to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center to
re-unite with their parents.

The boat is on a black trailer with an Illinois plate. Text: On 03/22/08 at approximately 0210 hours Alaska State Troopers were told of a possible fight involving a stabbing and shots fired at the Jim Creek Pavilion. Upon arrival, investigation revealed the assault had occurred approximately one hour earlier at the Jim Creek/Party Island, which is located 3 miles from the Jim Creek Pavilion. Trooper's contacted nine participants at the Pavilion who were attempting to leave the scene and subsequently discovered a second victim, Matthew Splawn, age 28 of Fort Richardson. Splawn was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for a head injury sustained from being kicked and punched. Splawn was treated and later released. While interviewing the nine participants, 4 firearms were seized. Investigation further revealed one stabbing victim, Andrew Alonzo, age 21 of Chugiak, had been transported by civilian vehicle to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center prior to Trooper arrival. Alonzo was released later that morning. At this time the knife has not been recovered. Further investigation also revealed that Mitchell R. Lewis, age 19, of Fort Richardson when contacted by the troopers in this investigation gave false information about not consuming alcohol and about his age. Lewis was issued a summons for Minor Consuming Alcohol and released. Troopers continued to the Party Island area and interviewed 5 additional individuals. All individuals stated alcohol was a key factor during the altercation. Investigation is still ongoing, but has revealed the altercation occurred between two large groups from separate campsites. Loren Karro, age 56 of Wasilla, reported that Seth Peterson, age 21 of Anchorage, was dropped off by airplane on 9-7-07 to goat hunt. The weather turned bad with high winds and Peterson called Karro by satellite phone and stated that his tent had blown down and that he was soaking wet. Attempts to remove Peterson by airplane were unsuccessful. The Alaska State Troopers dispatched Helo 1 to the scene at approximately 1130 hours. Peterson was recovered without incident or injuries and flown to the State Trooper Post in Palmer where he was reunited with Karro.

At about 0600 hours, Hamblin and Smith made it to the Jim Creek Pavilion on foot and notified Matcom Dispatch that they were okay and did not need any further assistance.

Text: On 8/17/2007, approx. 0240 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an injured hiker near Pioneer Peak in Butte near Palmer. Investigation revealed that on 8/16/2007, approx. 1930 hours, 27 yoa Daniel P. Dryden III was hiking in the mountainous area near pioneer Peak when during a leap onto a ledge, he broke his lower right leg. On8/17/07, approx 0700 hours, Dryden was located by four civilian volunteer rescuers. Shortly after, a helicopter rescue crew from the 210th Rescue Squadron Alaska Air National Guard based out of Anchorage arrived, hoisted Dryden out of the area, and transported him to MSRMC in Palmer for treatment.

Text: On 8/6/07 at approximately 0553 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to the Old Glenn Highway and Our Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed Earl Adair, age 54 of Palmer, was south bound in his 2004 gold Toyota Corolla when he fell asleep and ran off the road. Adair reported wearing his seatbelt and was released at the scene. Adair's vehicle is estimated to be a total loss. Further investigation revealed Adair was impaired by alcohol and subsequently arrested for DUI. Adair was transported to MatSu Pretrial where he was remanded with bail set at $1000.00 cash only.

Text: On 08/04/2007 at approximately 1445 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle fire in the Jim Creek, Knik River Public Access Area. Investigation revealed that an unknown white male adult drove to the area of Jim Creek from the "pavilion" near Sullivan Ave, in a red pick up truck, stepped out of the vehicle, poured gasoline over it and then set it on fire. The white male adult was seen departing the scene in a Jeep Wrangler. Text: On 7/29/07 at approximately 1106 hours, Investigators with the Alaska State Troopers, while on DNR granted enforcement in the Knik Public Use Area of the Butte, located a 1982 Chevy pickup with the driver passed out behind the wheel. AST contacted the driver and identified the driver as Christopher E. Rogers, age 27, of Houston. Investigation revealed that Rogers was in control of the vehicle, was under the influence of alcohol and had passed out behind the wheel. A check with Roger's criminal history revealed Rogers had a conviction for DUI and a conviction for DUI refusal within the last 10 years. Rogers was placed under arrest for Felony DUI. Roger's vehicle was impounded for future forfeiture under the Felony DUI laws. Roger's was transported to and remanded at MSPT with $5000 cash bail plus CATP.

Investigation revealed the vehicle had been driven into the waters of Bodenburg Creek near the Knik River in Palmer. The vehicle had been shot several times with different caliber firearms and left in Bodenburg Creek sometime before 2350 hours on 7/20/07. Text: On 6/11/07 at approximately 1732 hours, Reona Kobayashi, age 21 of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Japan, contacted State Troopers at AST Palmer post to report a theft of camping equipment. Investigation revealed that between 1645 hours and 1700 hours on 6/11/07, unknown individual's) stole a red hiker's backpack with tent, sleeping bag and personal items from a camp site along the Kink Riverin Palmer near Jim Creek. Kobayashi estimated the value of the stolen items at $1,000.00. On 6/12/07 at approximately 1243 hours, State Troopers responded to the "Pavilion" located on Sullivan Road, Palmer for the report of a robbery, assault and multiple thefts involving Kobayashi. Investigation revealed that on 6/11/07, Kobayashi was contacted by an individual who claimed to know who stole his belongings. Kobayashi reported paying the unnamed individual $200.00 for the return of his camping gear and was then later assaulted and robbed by the same individual on 6/12/07at approximately 1200 hours on the the east side of Jim Creek. Kobayashi reported losing approximately $500.00 cash as well as traveler's checks, credit cards and camping equipment. Text: On 5/28/07, between 1000 hours and 1500 hours, Troopers concentrated on the area of the Old Glenn Hwy between Knik River Bridge and Plumbley Road for increased traffic enforcement. Troopers conducted 33 citizen contacts, issued 1 summons for Driving with a Suspended License, took 1 report of Criminal Mischief to a Vehicle, and issued 19 citations. The citations issued consisted of 2 for passing in a no passing zone, 6 for failure to carry proof of insurance, 3 for speeding, 4 for off-road vehicles on the roadway, 3 for no seatbelt worn, 1 for operating a vehicle with studded tires. Troopers were well received by the citizens living in the area.

Text: On 5/11/2007, from approximately 1700 hours to approximately 2100hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted enforcement efforts along the Old Glenn Highway in the Butte area between Plumley Road and the Knik River Bridge. During this enforcement effort, Troopers made 9 traffic contacts, issued 7 citations, issued 4 verbal warnings regarding the improper use of motorized vehicles on the pedestrian/bike path, and arrested a 16 yoa of Wasilla on one outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of Minor Consuming Alcohol. The sixteen year old was transported to Mat-Su Juvenile Justice Facility in Palmer where she was held on the $250.00 warrant.

Text: On 4/29/2007 at approximately 0352 hours the AST DUI Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop at approximately mile 7 of the Old Glenn Highway in Palmer for a moving violation. 18 year old Kirill C. Klippel of Eagle River was identified as a passenger inside the vehicle. Investigation revealed Klippel had recently consumed alcohol. Subsequent investigation revealed Klippel had a $500.00 warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignments, original charge of shoplifting out of Anchorage. Klippel was arrested for the warrant and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded. Klippel was issued a summons to appear in Palmer Court on the charge of Minor Consuming Alcohol.

Text: On 04/25/2007 at approximately 1920 hours Troopers attempted to stop a Chevy Corsica heading south on the Old Glenn Hwy near Bodenburg Loop for a traffic violation. When AST attempted the traffic stop, the vehicle immediately accelerated in an attempt to elude. Troopers lost visual of the vehicle shortly after the vehicle failed to yield and stop. The vehicle was located approximately 45 minutes later in the vicinity of Bodenburg Loop. The vehicle owner, Jesse Jester, age 43 of Palmer, was contacted a short time later. Jester was arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license and for failure to stop at the direction of an officer (eluding). Jester was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on $1500 bail.

Investigation revealed Olson had operated the vehicle recklessly and had run at least one oncoming vehicle off the roadway. An investigation revealed that a Hitachi Excavator, owned by Roy Brown, age 56, of Palmer, had been intentionally set on fire. The Hitachi sustained an estimated $80,000.00 in damage. Type: Search and RescueText: On 4-12-07, at approximately 2106 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of two lost four wheeler riders from Kimberly Bustillos, age 20 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Frank Bustillos, age 22 of Wasilla and Joel Gonzales, age 22 of Wasilla left the Jim Creek Pavilion for a four wheeler ride out to Knik Glacier. Neither of the individuals had any emergency equipment with them and were not dressed for cold weather. Bustillos and Gonzales got stuck in a swampy area off the trail and were cold and disoriented when they contacted Kimberly via cell phone. RCC was contacted at approximately 2252 hours and an Air Guard helicopter was dispatched to the area. Bustillos and Gonzales were located and transported to the Butte Airstrip where they were contacted by Alaska State Troopers. Both individuals were cold and hungry but otherwise in good condition with no injuries.

Text: On 04-12-07 at approximately 2344 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Carol Ann Drive in Palmer for the report of shots fired at a residence. Investigation revealed several shots caused damage to three vehicles, one of which was parked in the garage. Two shots penetrated through the exterior garage door and one continued through the garage and penetrated an interior wall. Damage is estimated at $2500.00. No one was injured in the incident. Text: On 3-25-07, at approximately 2224 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an overdue four wheeler rider from Nicole Hartley, age 31 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Jeremiah Simmons, age 30 of Palmer left a residence in Palmer for a four wheeler ride out to Metal Creek, Palmer. Simmons got separated from his friends at approximately 1830 hours when they were riding back to Jim Creek in Palmer. An Alaska State Trooper Helicopter (Helo 1) was dispatched to the area. Helo 1 conducted a search of the Metal Creek trails and located Simmons approximately one eighth of a mile west of Metal Creek. Helo 1 landed and picked up Simmons, who was flown to the Knik River Trail Head in Palmer where he was met by Hartley. Simmons had ran out of gas when he got separated from his friends. Simmons was in good condition and did not suffer any injuries

Text: On 9/13/05, at approximately 2019 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle. Investigation revealed an 18 year old male was traveling west on the Old Glenn Hwy. on his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle traveling west on the Old Glenn Hwy. near the intersection of Old Glenn Hwy. and Virginia Ave. The bicyclist was transported to Valley Hospital and suffered a possible broken arm and other minor injuries. The vehicle was unable to be located and is described as an older white Ford F250 or F350 Crew Cab operated by a white male adult.
